Accessibility

Measures we take

eavi is committed to ensuring our online service is accessible to everyone. Providing an accessible website has a positive effect on general usability and we believe that websites that are accessible and usable, benefit everyone. We are also able to provide large format copies of our policy wording, terms of business and terms of service on request.

We will continue to review, test and modify our website and any future releases of the site, for web accessibility issues and aim to ensure that this is an on-going commitment.

We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

We try to ensure that:

  • All images in our sites contain appropriate alternate text
  • Correct use of semantic HTML elements, ARIA roles and labels
  • Pages are navigable by keyboard
  • Pages and images on this website are optimised to load quickly and smoothly
  • Skip links for screen readers are implemented
  • Any links that are opened in a new tab are labelled as such
  • All foreground and background colours for text are checked to ensure sufficient 4.5:1 contrast
  • Text is no smaller than 11px
  • Our content is written clearly, concisely, free of jargon and in plain English
  • All pages use headings, in the correct hierarchical structure
  • All ‘calls to action’ highlighted with icons and/or different colour font or underlined
  • All buttons contain text. Elements that act as buttons are labelled as such
  • Symbols (e.g. >) are used in context and for their semantic use
  • Consistent navigation and page layouts are used
  • All forms are navigable using a keyboard and labelled
  • We have submit buttons on all forms
